DPS ANALYSIS 1 (HARRY SHORT)

This double page spread is from an issue of mix-mag. This DPS uses some media conventions you would find in a double page spread of a magazine. For a start it uses a lead paragraph to draw a reader into the article and to give an insight into what most of the article will be about. In my magazine i will probably use a lead as they are typical in music magazines of my chosen genre. The Dps article is a Q+A article and the editor has used a highlighted bolder font to show where the questions are. In my magazine i will probably avoid doing a Q+A type article. One page of this Dps it a picture which is conventional in magazines of my chosen genre but i will also avoid doing that in my final magazine as i like the idea of putting text on both pages and using a smaller picture. The image used on the Dps is a full shot where the models are sat down for my Dps i will probably use a full shot as they are a convention in music magazines of my chosen genre and i think a full shot will work and look better on a Dps article.The article i am analyzing it uses sans-serif fonts which are again is a typical convention in music magazines of dance/electric genre. However not used in this article is a drop capital which i would like to use in my final magazine.
